Editor's Review: CutePDF Writer is a handy application, with a simple and clean layout that allows Windows applications to print/convert documents to PDF. CutePDF downloads and installs in seconds, automatically configuring itself as a printer subsystem. Basically, it acts as a virtual printer, which can be found in your ‘Printers’ folder or in any application that is capable of printing documents. Once installed, you simply open the document or website you want to convert to PDF, select the print option from the application being used, select CutePDF Writer as the printer, and press ‘Print.’ It is as simple as that!

The only thing missing in this software is the ability to convert to other file formats or to generate password-protected files, but it is still a nice and free alternative to those expensive PDF converters.
